Date1911DescriptionTheodore Serovich arrived from Serbia in the late 1880s. After working on the sugarcane fields in Queensland he was able to buy ten acres of land in St Johns Park. He established a vineyard on the property between Bulls and Burns Roads in 1893. Together with his brother Samuel he grew wine and table grapes and built a cellar located on what is now Melbourne Road. Serovich’s contribution to the area was recognised in 2004 when the bridge crossing Clear Paddock Creek was named in his honour.
