Date2014DescriptionCast iron kettles were a typical household item used for heating water and other liquids such as soup. They were designed to sit in an open fire, or above the fire, and the durable material meant it could withstand extreme heat, and that it heated quickly and evenly.PhotographerAdnan BegicNotesThis image formed part of the exhibition Evoke by Adnan Begic (on display 12 March – 14 May 2016)
Evoke captured artefacts from Fairfield City Museum and Gallery’s collection, interiors of the Vintage Village and historical locations relevant to the collection. The photographs evoke personal and collective memories from the community, recreating stories and reforming narratives. Images were captured creatively, offering new readings, interpretations and engagements with objects and the site.
