The Coleman family had a reunion at the official opening of the Slab hut cottage in Chifley Street, Smithfield that Amos Robert Coleman built. The reunion was held on 22 April 2001 and had over 100 family members present.PhotographerErnest DornNotesThe cottage is located at 76 Chifley Street, Smithfield. It is of state significance and gained much attention during 1997 with its purchase by council. The slab cottage is listed on the State Heritage Register and is located on land granted to the Male Orphan School in 1803 and subdivided in 1836 for the speculative township/cattle markets known as Smithfield.
