DescriptionFor History Week 2021 FCMG hosted 'From The Ground Up, Collecting in South West Sydney' - a two-part webinar series focussing on the diverse histories told through our archives and local studies collections.
The event aimed to inspire novice and experienced researchers to think about the ways in which we participate in history making. Keynote speaker, Therese Sweeney, shared her journey combining photography, oral history and new media to develop community histories with a special focus on her project 'On the Fringes: South-West Sydney 1994-2014'.
Other speakers represented organisations collecting local, family and social histories. Offering insights into how the collections were built and highlighting their strengths and focus.
