This annual program aims to capture the people and places of Fairfield City today, creating a record for the future through a growing collection of photographs.Description“As the Fairfield City Photographer for 2022 my project aim has been to document some of the unique homes we have within our community before they inevitably become victims to change and relics of the past. Along with that, I also wanted to take the time to find out a little more about some of the people living behind the front door. What’s their history, how did they come to live in Fairfield and what are some of their fondest memories here?
While the look of a home or garden can already reveal so much, taking the time to learn a person’s history allowed me to capture a more detailed picture of the kind of people living in our community; and in a sense capture a collective nostalgia. Granted this project merely scratches the surface on the wonderful and interesting people that are present with the community, I hope it encourages us all to get to know our neighbours a little more as there is always more to know than meets the eye.”
