Printed on paper and stuck to the back is "The Council & Officers of the Municipality of Cabramatta and Canley Vale. First Council elected under the Local Government Act. 1906-7-8. Ald. Geo. Stimson. J.P. Mayor."

NotesGeorge Stimson was the third son of William and Eliza and was born at Parramatta in 1857. His father and brother served on the Smithfield and Fairfield council for many years. He married Elizabeth A. Hamilton in 1883, they had 4 sons and 5 daughters. George was first elected to Liverpool Council in 1890 and served one term. He was elected to the first Cabramatta and Canley Vale Council in 1892 and was elected again in 1894. He was elected as mayor from 1894 to 1897. He was not nominated for mayor in 1898 but when the existing mayor resigned he was elected and was mayor until 1899. He did not stand for election in 1900 but returned to council in 1906. He was elected again in 1908 and was re-elected as mayor every year until 1915. He was a fruit grower for many years and died at Ashfield on 6 December 1926 aged 69. George Stimson was regarded as an honourable man, he worked harder for the benefit of the people than any man he ever knew and always tried to do good and not harm anybody.
