The opening of Fairfield's first annual Show at the Fairfield Showground was on Friday 2nd December 1955. The show was held on the 2nd & 3rd of December and was attended by 2500 children and adults. Its primary focus was bringing families together to showcase local agriculture, crafts and produce.
In 2023, the Fairfield Show was brought back after over 40 years of not running. The focus of the event still included agriculture but not necessarily from the local area.
From 2024, the event was renamed to Fairfield Spectacular Show and began to focus more only on general festival features including rides, food trucks, showbags, circus performances and fireworks.
