Collection SummaryCabramatta Public School is listed in the Fairfield City Council's Local Environmental Plan.DescriptionSTATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:
Cabramatta Public School is of significance for the local area for historical, aesthetic, social and reasons of rarity and representativeness. The site and building are continuously associated with provision of public education since 1920 and have a wide appreciation in, and associations with, the local community through a number of local families whose members were educated on the site. The building and its modifications are indicative of the standard design of educational facilities in NSW in the Interwar period. The original classroom wing with attractive façade, featuring decorative face brickwork, was described as particularly good example of Inter-War period school architecture. The school is a local landmark that strongly contributes to the townscape and area character, and its fabric integrity presents as very high when viewed externally.
