Datemid 1940sDescriptionThe two photographs show Marion Stimson and her daughters Jessie and Nell standing on the verandah of Rugby Villa. The photographs were taken on the same day and show a slight change in posture of the women. HPC000048a has written in pencil on the back 'Nel Stimson (Cuthel) Jessie Stimson Mrs Stimson' and on one side 'Florence'. HPC000048b has stamped on the back 'This is the property of the Fairfield City Museum, Item No., 105P' and written in pencil 'Mrs Walter Stimson, Jessie, Nellie outside Rugby Villa'.NotesMarion Stimson (nee McMaster) and her daughters Jessie and Nell are standing on the verandah of Rugby Villa, The Crescent, Fairfield. Marion was married to long serving Fairfield alderman, Walter Stimson. Jessie was affected by polio as a young woman. Nell married Bert Cuthel. Neither Jessie or Nell had children of their own. Rugby Villa still stands but has been extended and altered beyond recognition and is now the Fairfield Nursing Home.
