Alice Lu is a former refugee fighting against the Fairfield City Council over its order to decorate new buildings in Cabramatta shopping centre with oriental facades.
Mrs Lu, of Chinese extraction and her Cambodian husband David fled from Vietnam in 1976 with the family jewels, which they converted into a flourishing electrical and furniture shop in Cabramatta.
