DescriptionPicnic outing of the Hirst Family. The photographs shows (from left to right) Neville, Alma, a friend of the family (possibly Bill Mort) and Wilson Hirst standing by their car. NotesThe Hirst Brothers owned two sawmills, one at Fairfield and the other at Cabramatta. The Fairfield timber mill in Smithfield Street (Court Road) is now the site of the courthouse while the Cabramatta site is now occupied by Woolworths. The sawmill on Railway Parade, Cabramatta operated for more than 60 years.
