DescriptionThe Wilson Hirst Memorial is an appreciation certificate/letter from his employees in memory of his achievements and generous character. The certificate reads ' In Remembrance - Wilson Hirst - Cabramatta - Died, 3rd June, 1937. It has been agreed by the employees of Wilson Hirst, to place on record in this humble manner, their appreciation of the generous and sterling character of the late Wilson Hirst. We therefore express our deep regret at the sad loss of a valuable and sincere friend, which the firm and community has sustained.
It was signed by F. Rule, Gen. Frenck, C. Rule, A. Peters, A. Rule, E. Kohler, A. H. Hoy and L. Bullock.

The Fairfield timber mill in Smithfield Street (Court Road) is now the site of the courthouse while the Cabramatta site is now occupied by Woolworths. The sawmill on Railway Parade, Cabramatta operated for more than 60 years.
