DateBetween 5th February 2026 and 6th February 2026Date KnownExactDescriptionPing Thai immigrated to Australia in 1984 and has called Bonnyrigg home ever since. For 32 years she has owned and operated Tan Phat Craft and Variety Store in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Cabramatta. Bursting at the seams with colour, I’m drawn to the shop like a moth to a flame by the festive Lunar New Year decorations, bountiful florals and ornate paintings, but it is Ping herself who stops me in my tracks. Standing inside her shop she is impeccably dressed, her hairstyle intricate and sculptural, a picture of elegance and grace. In that moment her presence feels inseparable from the shop she has nurtured for decades, resilient, generous and radiant.
