The Von Heiden family home is visible in the top left and Latty's boatshed can be seen top right.NotesProspect Creek rises below Prospect Reservoir, north of Bulls Hill in Prospect, within the Blacktown local government area, and flows generally southeast by east, through the Holroyd, Fairfield, Liverpool and Bankstown local government areas, before reaching its confluence with the Georges River, at Georges Hall, spilling into Dhurawal Bay in the Chipping Norton Lakes.

The catchment area of the creek is approximately 98 square kilometres, and today is largely urbanised with industrial land uses, residential and open space for recreation.

Latty's Boatshed and the Von Heiden family home were situated along the creek not far from Fairfield railway station. Many people came to enjoy the picnic grounds and hire boats and it was a popular weekend pastime from the 1890s until about 1941 when access to the creek was restricted due to wartime security measures. The section of Prospect Creek from the Woolwash near Vine Street, Fairfield to its junction with the Georges River was commonly referred to as the George River. Their home was on the bank of Prospect Creek at the end of Haughton Street, Carramar.
