Edmund Charles Lunn

Datec.1922DescriptionThis sepia toned photograph is an official portrait of Ald. E.C. Lunn. It is mounted on beige coloured card with an oval beveled frame. There is a small square in the top right corner that appears to be where another photograph could have been. Printed on paper and stuck to the back is 'The Council and Staff of the Municipality of Cabramatta and Canley Vale. 1920-21-22. Ald. E.C. Lunn. Crown Studios Sydney.' Printed in black on the bottom front frame is 'Ald. E.C. Lunn.'NotesEdmund Charles Lunn was the son of Charles James and Mary Ann and was born at Bathurst in 1879. He married Emma L. Madison at Petersham in 1902 and they appear to have had 10 children. After moving to Canley Vale in 1917 the Lunn family ran a poultry farm on their property on St Johns Road. Edmund Lunn was first elected to Council in 1920 and again in 1925. He did not stand in 1928, 1932 or 1934. He returned to Council in 1937 and remained an alderman until 1945. Edmund Lunn died at Saratoga on 15 July 1952 aged 73 and is buried at Rookwood cemetery.
